In 2014, Mr. Simmons started A&S Rebar, Inc. to meet client needs by supplying and making rebar and heavy construction materials. A&S Rebar is a fabrication shop offering rebar services like estimating, detailing, fabrication, and delivery. Certified by New York public agencies as a manufacturer and supplier, A&S Rebar helps clients meet M/DBE goals, allowing them to earn 100% credit compared to the usual 60% for distributors.
The company also distributes rebar accessories like steel mesh, couplers, and supports. Situated on over 100 acres in a rail yard, A&S Rebar provides storage and staging for projects and can deliver fabricated rebar directly to job sites. Since the steel comes straight from the mill, deliveries are efficient and seamless.
Lashays Construction and A&S Rebar, both certified M/DBE firms work together and form a “One-Stop-Shop” in the steel industry. As a “One-Stop-Shop” clients purchase rebar, couplers, and other materials from A&S Rebar, and then Lashays Construction performs installation. This differentiates us from most other small and diverse businesses in the construction industry.
